That's true. Heard today that the VA Chamber of Commerce put 1M into the last Governors race and nothing in this one. I believe a lot of old school Republican backers withheld finances. I believe that even the NRA didn't spend as much as before but still might have kicked in 1M. Cucinelli was outspent 3 to 1 by McAuliffe.

The upcoming primaries for the 2014 elections will be among, if not the most important we have ever had. The old school republicans need to be tossed out. Their arrogance and self serving attitudes have just about turned this country into a one parts system. With them not supporting the republican candidate in Virginia, they have shown their disdain for righting this country. Add to that the election of a republican governor who received democrat backing in New Jersey, we need a full purge of the so-called old guard republican.

We got rid of Richard Lugar in Indiana, now we need to get rid of McCain and his over the hill gang.

    Update:

VBE now has the republican for AG winning by about 1000 votes. IIRC Cucinelli won by 300 something votes four years ago. I figured they would do a recount since the race was within 1%. Not sure when it will be final and the winner announced?

Update: As of this morning 11/7/13, the Republican for AG is leading by 835 votes. I was wrong about the recount in so much as when they certify the vote later this month the loser can request a recount and if it's within a certain percentage (maybe that's where I heard the 1%) then the state will pay for the recount otherwise it's on the loser to pay for it.

Our own biggest problem is that we have too many idiots who HAND THE VICTORIES to the Dems. They all scream about principles and stuff, and that's good and all, but what good are your principles when the Liberal Democrats have completely destroyed the country and taken away all our rights? The one thing about RINOs are, that their party affiliation ensures that Republicans chair the IMPORTANT committees. Also with the exception of Bloomberg, who turned Independent, most RINOS are not enemies of things like gun rights. They may not be friends either, but they are EASY TO LEAD toward or away from actions that negatively affect us. They are ultimately preferable to dedicated anti gun anti America Democrat idealogues. The guys who would hand the reins of power over to the 100% enemy versus the 20% enemy is a complete moron.

Not sure if anyone thought he was going to "split" the vote but that the 7-8% he was going to draw would hurt the Republican candidate more than the Democrat which was true.

The dems money was not wasted. Consider that a moderate to the NYT is like a old guard R, and conservative is equal to tea party, yeah Sarvis helped sway this election.

How so? It looks like twice as many liberals (7%) voted for the Libertarian than did conservatives (3%). Unless you think most of those moderates (10%) would have voted Republican instead.

You have to keep in mind that Libertarians are very liberal when it comes to social issues. Pro-choice, gay rights, the whole shebang. Most folks attracted to that aren't going to be voting Republican, period.
