Lighter than Miller Lite. Slight amber taste. I used to like Icehouse. Too heavy for me. Like the lighter beers these days.

There is a dry bottle of vermuth behind the garage in the UP of MI where I used to live 30 years ago. That is about as close as vermuth comes to my martinis......I drink Luksusowa Polish potato vodka. However, the wife gave me a bottle of Russian Standard Gold for Christmas. It is sitting on the fireplace mantle teasing me........chris3

Take a martini shaker, fill with fresh ice, add a good vodka, or gin. Fill an antique depression martini glass with crushed ice to chill. When chilled, empty glass, Pour shaken vodka or gin into the glass, garnish with whatever you like. Enjoy. Repeat as necessary. That ain't a martini! That's vodka on the rocks.

    Here's my take:

    1oz Blue Ice potato vodka
    1/2 to 1oz Bombay Sapphire
    Splash of dry vermouth
    Squirt of lemon juice

Shake over ice and pour into chilled stemware. Garnish with lemon peel.

    Yum!

I don't see any rocks in the photo of my antique martini glass. I also like a martini that is 2oz of vodka and 2oz of Bombay Sapphire gin. Garnish is a pickled okra. I like pure gin but the high octaine Sapphire hammers me too much......chris3
