Petition to split California int 6 states?

I'm thinking dividing up California wouldn't be the worst idea ever, but 6 states? Seems excessive to me.

Depending on the divisions, I can see two democrat states (LA and San Fran areas) and 4 republican states.

didn't read the article cause it reads chibama.

ok read the story. comes down to who would control the water and if it would benefit democrats. I see silicon valley mentioned but nothing of the Joaquin which is so much more important.

Yeah, could make for a nice change. I'd like to see the freedom lovers in that state finally have a voice in how they're governed.

I'm thinking it would be as successful as the 51st state movement here in the emperors state, when the petition was put forth to make the NCY area a separate state.

I would wager most of the population, including NY state voters never heard of it, as the press gave it very little coverage.

I only knew of it because I met one of the group that were pushing it, and heard some of their ads on the radio.

Probably, yes. But stranger things have happened.

Not sure who is pushing it, but if it has Liberal-Democrat approval, it won't be a good move.
