Thats because you never paid $.08-.10 per round.

I still think 7.62x39 is a comparatively inexpensive caliber in today's market, and its still probably my most often fired caliber, maybe in second place only to 9mm.

Even since I bought that case of "Tula Ammo" that seemed to be only loaded to 1/2 power, I am very wary of brands that I don't know personally.

I do know that Golden Tiger is top-notch stuff, which is why I always try to get that kind (and probably why it's the one always out of stock).

Now, not only is the ammo hard to find and way overpriced, you can't even be sure it's any good anymore!

X39 used to be around $.10 to $.15 a round and you could buy it anywhere, any time, from anyone.

Hell, .50 BMG was a dollar a round and we thought that was outrageous!

I used to blow through close to a CASE of every caliber I took to the range. On a good Saturday, I could piss away a case of X39, .223 and 9mm or .45ACP... all in one day... with a group of 4 or 5 guys.

When we were done, all the guns were HOT and DIRTY.

Now they sit in the safe, cold and dusty.

The only thing I can say is they are the only ones around that have any to sell. I used to be able to get it at WallyWorld but I haven't seen any around here for the past 3 weeks.
