Just Ordered a WWII Nazi P-38!

I found an FFL and went to the J&G website to order the gun but couldn't get the website to work. I ended up calling J&G and ordered a pistol and 2 extra magazines. I had the choice of getting a P38 manufactured by Walther, Mauser, or Spreewerk. I choose the Walther manufacturer. About 5 minutes after I hung up the phone I got a call back from the salesman. He told me that the Walthers were all sold out and asked if I would like a different manufacturer. I choose Mauser next even though it cost another $10, but then he told me that since they still listed the Walthers on the website and I had been offered one he was not going to charge me the extra $10. I thanked him and hung up. Another 5 minutes went by and he calls back. He told me that he was grabbing the Mauser manufactured pistol when he decided to check the display case. That pistol turned out to be a Walther and he said it is in great condition! It has brown grips and he said the Nazi markings are easily seen. I expect that since this was the display model it has to be a nice looking weapon. I can't wait for it to arrive!

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

    That is great!

I can't wait for pics and hopefully you can use this gun in a future gunsnet c&r match.

Congrats! You will love it. Hard to explain, but it shoots where you point it while having a very comfortable angle in your hand.

The Spreewerk code "cyq" is a very sought after pistol in collectors grade. The Walther "ac" and Mauser "byf" are easier to find. For a shooter the later German Police P-1 pistols are far more accurate in my opinion. These were made in the 1980s.

The upper pistol is a "cyq" and the lower pistol is the German Police P-1.

Itorlo64. The S&W Mdl. 39 9MM Pistol was copied from the P-38 following WWII. I like the shooting the P 38 type pistols. The only problem is finding a nice civilian holsters for that frame? About the only thing other than military is those horrible cloth holsters.
