Peal Oil? The answer is sort of, maybe, sometime far in the future.

    1. There are huge reserves that have not, and are blocked from, development. New York State and several NE states blocked fracking that could have developed fields nearly as large as N. Dakota. The East Coast, West Coast and Florida Coast are all off limits to off shore drilling and there are know oil reserves in all of them Hell, the Chinese are slant drilling into Florida water right now. ANWR was set aside as a oil reserve and is being blocked from drilling. There are huge oil reserves on Federal land that are currently blocked from drilling.

    2. There are huge oil shale reserves that become viable for development if the price stays up. The Wyoming / Colorado field alone holds more oil than the USA has pumped out of the ground to date.

    3. There are massive coal deposits and coal conversion tech was developed by the Germans during WWII. All that coal can be made into crude oil and other hydrocarbons.

    4. Natural Gas can also be processed into fuels fairly easily.

    5. There is an UNBELIEVABLE amount of Methane in deposits in the deep ocean. All of this is readily converted to fuels.

    6. There is good reason to believe there are large deposits of carbon, hydrogen and methane in the Earth's core. In the universe, these are all common elements/compounds. The high temp and pressure can be converting these to hydrocarbon-chain oil. This is the current theory why oil field once pumped dry are refilling. The Russians have held this as true for around 100 years.

    7. The gas giants and their moons have PHENOMENAL deposits of hydrocarbon. If we develop those, it could take a million years to run out of hydrocarbon fuels.

Now where and how are you defining "peak oil"?
We found out what "dealing" with progressive lefties is all about. Our side gives up something, they give up nothing and the progressives come back in a month or a year and want us to give up more... rinse and repeat...

Our biggest problem is the left trying to turn us into Luddites via the green movement. Carbon Dioxide is PLANT FOOD! You want forests to grow, raise the level of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere. It worked during the ages of the dinosaurs. I works in green houses today.

Peak oil can refer to a worldwide peak, a peak in a certain region, or even of a specific well. The theory itself is obvious, at some point a well's production will peak, after which production will drop off.

Producing more doesn't mean "peak oil" doesn't exist for a region, it simply means the peak has not yet been reached.

As to the man who advanced the term, yes his global predictions were premature. I believe he had it as peaking in 2005 or so. His predictions were done in the 1950's BTW, and he did accurately forecast the increases fairly well into the late 1960's, perhaps early 70's. But he had no way to account for the effect of new technologies that would increase production, and stated such in his research.
You will just defend anyone on your side (libtard) side even when they're proven to be totally wrong. Sad.
