The movie isn't actually sensationalist like that at all. Its a French film about an interracial couple in the 1960's, which was far less scandalous in France. In fact, the movie portrays the couple as merely having a slightly harder time than other couples. Its nothing like what the US version of the trailer depicts it as.Originally Posted by El Jefe
I forget what the French title is, but it certainly isn't My Baby is Black. The baby being black isn't a surprise or a shocking moment in the film at all.
I like exploitation films, and was disappointed to find out that this wasn't an exploitation film at all. Its just a French love story.

When I first watched I was WTF, are you serious??? Then I figured it was someones attempt at unsavory humor. I never would have guessed it was a real film, unless if it was produced by the Klan or something.
