I like the idea, a rifle that shoots a live cased round. Make it so the round fires on impact, be like shooting something at point blank range even at 100 yards.
Just a thought, how about a round that does leave the barrel like that, but on impact the bullet is driven back into the case striking a second primer which sets off an explosive charge!

Since we are in everytown fantasy land, how about pack the case with C-4. A large magnum brass case should hold enough to make a pretty good bang. It could theoretically leave an exit wound in all directions, depending on the size of target and shot placement of course.This is the idea behind my idea!
