Here is the IW dragunov stock on it, refinished. It's an improvenet, but I think I may look to sell it. Contemplating a Vepr instead.

Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws.

Interesting look with the SVD stock and Romanian lower handguard/grip.

Agree with Silentkilla01, add a VEPR to your NHM as they are two very different feeling rifles.

I've always like the rom handguard and it's comfortable, plus that beast gets heavy if you shoot without support.

I might as well just keep it and start a collection, this is only #2, my 1st is the gen1 yugo pap, before century took over.

In 7.62x54r and the real stock on the Soviet civilian version of the SVD:

This is what your stock should be attached to. Many would say that tomahawk type stock (RPK) would be more correct for the NHM91 but personally I prefer what you did Kevlar!

Very Cool!!! Yeah I thought about putting on the clubfoot/tomahawk style stock, but it just looks clumbsy IMHO. Now I have to explore my scope mount options, I'm wishing I would have choosen a darker stain now after seeing your SVD stock.

Looks like your stain matches the handguards which if they came that way, I would have done the same stain to the stock.

the top guard was unfinished, I had to sand down the bottom since it was prob a surplus part. But all in all it was a good exp project since it was the first time I ever altered a firearm. contimplating buying a kit someday and working on that , getting tooling as I go and what not.
