Question Question on best .9mm JHP Round's to buy for Walther P.88.

The Walther P.88 has a very Accurate and Tight Barrel, I am told like a Colt Gold Cup, I cannot shot cheap, or Reloaded Ammo. I need a good .9mm Home Defence Round for it, that is a JHP Round, any Subjestions? I have no problems with quality FMJ Ammo, need a JHP Round like that. Thanks Paul

Hornady Critical Defense gets decent reviews. Problem is, because your weapon is finicky, I think you will have to buy a few boxes of different types and see how they work to find the round that works best in your pistol.

don't you think finicky is a problem?
I would think it should shoot any spec ammo.

By Finicky, I mean I can't shoot Reloads, unless they were perfect, like new Ammo. Sometime's Reloads, have a bulge in the casing, and not a tight fit, in the Barrel. Some Hollow Points, if the Bulliet is too wide, will not chamber, I haven't shot JHP yet in the P.88 just wanted to get some Ideas before buying some. I remember having some Jam in an old AC-42 P.38 I used to own. Thanks for Ideas. and help. Paul

124 +p or 147 gr bonded JHP rounds from Remington Golden Sabre (must be labeled "Bonded"), Federal HST, Speer Gold Dot, Winchester Ranger Bonded or T-series, or Hornady critical duty 135 gr.

From what I understand, 115 grain JHP have problems with unreliable expansion. I'm sure the premium brands do well but after all the reading I've done on this lately I think I'll stick with heavier loads for deeper penetration.

The Hornady has a plastic plug in the hollow point cavity which might aid feeding in an overly tight gun, BTW.
