Question Could Hillary Clinton Be Any More Tone Deaf?

In an interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer slated to air Monday night, Hillary Clinton revealed that she and former President Bill Clinton were "dead broke" when they left the White House.

During one of their last years in the White House, the Clintons reportedly earned $416,039, the New York Daily News reports, citing the couple's 1999 federal income tax return. But apparently that was not enough to cover their debts and their daughter's education.

“We came out of the White House not only dead broke, but in debt," Clinton told Sawyer. “We had no money when we got there and we struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages, for houses, for Chelsea’s education. You know, it was not easy.”

According to Mother Jones, just before she left the White House as first lady, Hillary was given an $8 million advance for her memoir Living History. The couple had also purchased two homes, one in Washington, D.C., and another in Chappaqua, New York, Time reports.

Damn, I'd like to be the kind of "dead broke" where an Ivy education and PLURAL houses are all you can afford. Cry me a river...

If this is her attempt to "connect" with poor people, she needs some better image consultants.

Deity help us if the Democrats appoint her to be the one.

She's more beholden to corporate interests than even Romney.

Must be why they had to steal the white house silverware and the "W's" from all the computer keyboards...

Don't ex presidents get a lifetime stipend as well as an ss security detail? Like 300k per year or something.
"And how we burned in the camps later thinking, what would things have been like, if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain, whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?"

Yes, she has been within the bubble outside of the real world so long she is completely out of touch, honestly believing her lies are beyond question.

As of 2011 the presidential retirement was just under $200K a year. They also get allowances for staff, offices and travel. They do have secret service details assigned. I have a friend in the SS and he's been detailed to both of the Bush's, Clinton and Carter at one time or another.

Hell no! If it's between her and Christie or Jeb, I'll be voting (L) again just like I did in 2012.

What, no courage of your leftist convictions? The country has moved farther in the socialist direction in the last 6 years than it has in the 30 prior...and you know Hitlery will finish the job...

Has it? The Democrats embraced and got passed a Heritage Foundation (Republican think tank) health insurance mandate plan, we're on the verge of a major free-trade deal (the Trans-Pacific Partnership) becoming reality, and the Supreme Court has ruled that unlimited corporate campaign spending can freely influence elections.

Really, besides the expansion of LGBT rights (which is a social issue, not economic) how exactly have we moved to the left?

Hillary sat on the board of fucking Walmart for Pete's sake. She knows who her masters are...

Easily identified by the growing police state, the conditioning of the plebes to the idea that the law abiding are terrorists, and the continued dismantling of the military/placement of leftists and fascists in its leadership.

    Any questions?

Which all falls squarely at the feet of Ronald Reagan who declared the War on Drugs back in the 1980's, and the fallout of the "USA PATRIOT" Act after 9/11 which passed overwhelmingly with Republicans controlling all three branches of government.

Fascism (corporate merger with government) has always been a hallmark of the political right, not the left.

And which party is putting all those previous changes to law into play to eviscerate the constitution/oppress the people?

    Is it the right?

    No, it isn't.

Not to mention fascism was a socialist construct...just a slightly different one than Stalin's, but with the same result...millions dead.

    You own this LAGC.

Don't you worry -- when the Republicans take everything back over (which they eventually will, as the political pendulum inevitably swings the other way) I'm sure they'll finish the job they started.

You seem to believe such a pendulum swing is possible. Have you forgotten Stalin's dictum of it's who counts the votes?

We both know leftists care naught for honesty...you prove that daily. What makes you think this point in history is any different from another where leftists have seized power?

C'mon, now... surely you've been following politics long enough to know how this works. One side gains power, they inevitably do stuff that outrages their opponents, and/or get mired down in gridlock and piss off their base who want to see things get done faster.

So what ends up happening is their opponents show up in greater numbers next time at the polls, and their base just stays home and sits it out.

And the baton is passed to the other political party, rinse and repeat.
