    Glock 50rd drum

I bought one of these as a project.
My plan is to convert it to hold 40sw.
Last night I bored out the feed lip area. Before you couldn't even get a 40 into the mag, now you can load and it feeds.
So now I can load the drum tiwes but that's it. It stops after 9rds.

I took the drum apart. Its made very well with thick walls and internal parts.
The drum spring is wound 4 times and it doesn't have to be removed.
The track where everything winds is very thick and is only cast to hold 9mm, but there is almost enough room to convert this to a .45.

I am going to dremil tool these tracks out. So far its very rough doing it this way.

Also as a side note the front of the drum tower is metal lined in the front half.

Looks cool in my G27. Yes that's right I got it for just the coolness factor. That plus I like huge firepower in small packages.

Make sure the tracks are smooth and any machining marks are parallel to the bullet movement direction.

Also, try using some dry graphite powder as a lubricant. Graphite works miracles on problem magazines, and it doesn't gum anything up (it does, however, make fingers quite dirty).

    I never tried it in 9mm because I don't have a Glock in 9mm.

This is the second Korean drum mag I have bought (the first one was the beta mag clone) and they are always covered with graphite powder.
I just learned that I have to only hog out just over 1/2 of the groves because the fake bullet follower take up a bunch of space.

Photo bucket won't work for me because I had an account back in 09 and then in a drunkin stuper changed password and other security words.
I tried to recover everything but they claimed that I couldn't prove it was me.
Now when I try to register they still have my email address so it comes up as "email already in use" and then after that they elp section or customer service is completely useless.....

So I joined Tiny Pic...let see how that works.

    Piece of the main castings/interiors.

    The widening I did.

So I did the work making everything nice and loose for the 40sw.
    I reassembled and loaded up............

I need some lube, I need to open up the feed area some more and even possible give the spring an extra turn for more upward pressure.

The bullets are free to move around but there are snags still.
Pretty good for a first attempt. I just need to start the tweaking process. Which at this time, as long as its assembled I am going to shelf it for a while. I am also re-flooring my boat. I am a person of a million projects.

I'll keep people posted as I go along.
