Given the difficulties in getting ammo and getting to the range where I live I bought myself a Laserlyte laser training pistol and a couple of responsive targets. The pistol is blue plastic, is the same size and about the same weight as my G19 with a loaded magazine, and is supposed to have a comparable trigger pull. I just checked and it fits my G19 holster perfectly.
I have two types of targes, one records hits and where I hit, the other type of target is a timed target. It lights up at random times for three seconds. If you score a hit anytime during the 3 seconds it counts as a hit, otherwise the target will not acknowledge the shot.
The laser is ran by 3 watch batteries that are supposed to last for about 3,000 shots. So far it is at least meeting my expectations. We will see if it improves my range performance.
