1 scope ring instead of 2

Kind of weird question, I know. I've run into a problem I've never had before mounting a 1-4x scope on an AK. I don't have enough rail on my side mount to move the scope forward enough to get the proper relief. If I use one scope ring at the rear like an aimpoint type mount it would work but will it be secure?

(I know, just try it and see.)

No way to predict the result. You'll have to try it to find out. Sounds like you're trying to mount a long eye relief scope.

3.5" eye relief. I mocked it up and it appears solid enough for shooting purposes but after looking at it I'm not confident it would take an impact mounted like that. If I whacked the front against a barrier or something I think something would break.

Oh well. I'll order a mount with some more rail.

I ended up ordering a midwest industries mount that has more forward rail.

I'll keep the short one for red dots.
