    When did pine become cedar?

A while back I ordered a bat house from Amazon (made by Looker Products). It was advertised as being made from cedar. It arrived looking well made but clearly out of pine. Last week I ordered a five foot swing for our back deck. It was advertised as Amish made from cedar. It arrived in perfect condition but made from pine. Im looking at it now. It smells like the inside of a new house. Argh.

the outside of my house is rough cut cedar plank and when I had some work done all we could get was rough cut white pine. could be getting scarce or a marketing plan because most do not know the difference.

Seems like bait & switch to me.

To most people "wood is wood" and they just don't know the difference.

My ex thought everything made from wood was "oak."

False advertising. And you know how shifty & conniving some of those "Amish" can be.

It's a sign of the times. Most people nowadays are too retarded to know the difference. Heck the seller probably doesn't even know.

Maybe the amish don't think the English know what cedar is .... so pine will do.

Pine isn't cedar and cedar isn't pine. However there is a White Cedar from the Western States.

Bought a 52 Tula last week for $160. BBQ paint refurb but perfect arctic birch stock. All numbers match but the mag. Perfect bore and crisp action. Came with oiler, stock cleaning kit, 5 stripper clips and a sling. Got it from Dr Deals in Moncton.
