Thumbs up Heads up on New (Yugoslav) Croatian 30 round Steel AK mags!

    http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=MAK47CRO30

These have the bolt hold open on last round followers! Great price, makes me wish I still had an 7.62 x 39 AK in the collection.

I want a ten pack to go with my new O-pap.

Too bad I blew the last of my gun budget for the summer on some Russian bakelites and couple cases of 7.62.

    Thanks for the heads up.
Got a few for me, and my cousin. He just got his first AK, a Serbian. I have not seen it yet, sounds like it's nice though.

Okay got them today. Nicely built mags. Only two of the mags held my bolt open on the O-Pap Yugo. They don't work in any of my Chinese rifles and not to well in my Egyptian AK.

I read on one of the other forums that these magazines were sealed up and exported before being fitted to any particular rifle series. Every type of magazine I have fits better in one rifle or another, so I would suggest hand fitting these yourself.

If I'm able to get some of these before they sell out, I'll be counting on having to file or dremel these a little.

Shipping was $16.00 from aimssurplus, 5-7 days to receive.

Any ideas on why only two of the mags hold the bolt open on your yugo?

From the looks of the rear of the mag it has to do with the grinding above the tab. So it sits not high enough to hold the bolt back.

Just work on it slowly and try it a lot.

Grinding the top of the locking tab on the magazine should increase the height at which it sits relative to the magwell. Grinding the bottom of it should reduce the height.

I just did that to some PSL mags i picked up a couple years ago. They would not lock in, so i got out the dremel and took a little off the right side of the locking tab, problem solved, they lock in nice and tight now

For the price of these mags, i'm willing to do a little fitting if i have to.

Got mine yesterday. Opened one to test out, it will not fit in the Romania G. The top of the mag lock tab is hitting the center support of the reciever. No biggie, just a dremel job. They look very well made.
Fits in the milled Norinco (no center support), bolt hold open works fine.
