Has A New Ammo Buying Spree Started?

This past weekend, I checked ammo in about 3 different WalMarts and noticed the ammo shelves are going bare again. They used to have tons of 9mm, .40 cal., 5.56 bulk packs, and lots of center fire handgun ammo, but it seems these have all disappeared in the past week.

Has anyone else noticed this?

It never stopped. I have not seen a brick of .22 in more than 2 years.
The other stuff comes and goes, get it while you can.

It's not as bad as it was. Maybe because I'm in the gun range capital of the US. Walmart cleans out pretty quick though because of the smaller quantities and cheap price.

.22 RF isn't as bad as it was. In the past year, I've managed to get about 10,000 rounds of it, but have hit the stores at irregular times. It's been hit or miss, but until this past week, the WalMarts around here have had their shelves loaded with ammo. Now, most of the shelves are empty, again.

The academy around here has tons of everything except 22 lr. You might find a box or two here and there but that's about it. Everything else has no limit. But 22 has a one box limit still if you can find it

About every 2 months, he'll call me and ask if I want some .22's. I, usually, buy them from him, at cost, plus tax. He, usually, has about 1,000 rounds to get rid of. The rest, I just luck into.

.22 Mags are a little harder to come by, but I've got about 900 rounds of them, so far.

Could be, but my friend doesn't work there. He's retired and lives 1/2 mile away from there. He and three other guys go there every morning and buy what they can. It's a ritual to them. I'm not complaining as I can't get to that store very often. The one I used to score at was near where I worked, but since I'm retired now, I can't get there very often. The ones I can get to are usually sold out, so I'm relying more on my buddy now.

I was referring to centerfire rifle and pistol ammo. It's been steadily building back to pre-Obama days until about 2 weeks ago. Now, the shelves at WallyWorld seem to be bare of even those.

.22 LR has been very hard to find unless you get there right when the clerk puts them on the shelf. There's always a scarcity of .22 RF., but centerfire has been rather plentiful until recently.

I just didn't know if this were a local phenomenon or more widely spead.

.22lr is hit/miss but most gun shops are flooded with everything else.

i have been buying .223 tul ammo at walmart once in while.


Remember , This time of year is inventory reset for most retailers so you wont see shit for a few weeks.

That PMC .223 looks like a decent deal and I like their ammo. Shoots well out of my AR.

Had to go to wall mart, for giggles stopped by the sporting goods. They had to add an extra cabinet to hold all of the ammo. Lots of everything....Except .22. I did buy one of the 420 round cans of .223. Not that I needed it. But it has been awhile since I bought any ammo.

OUCH! 53 + cents a round! I can remember paying 13 for that KA stuff but it was early 60's head stamps. All worked, just was corrosive primed.

And I want to know WTF is this freaking .22 LR shortage. We are coming up on 2 years now and still no fucking .22 LR anywhere. I swear they are not making it, there is no way they can be pumping out billions of rounds of it like preSandyhook.
