    Made Magazine Soup Again

Finally had time to clean my new (to me) P-38. It took a good 3 hours to get all the cosmoline off of it. When I was finally finished I remembered the magazine that came with it. I checked and it was more like a metal container for the grease than an ammunition storage device. Got the magazine apart and wiped globs of cosmoline off then boiled it for about 5 minutes. Took the parts out and wiped them down again, then oiled them and I am ready to go to the range!

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

taste like chicken soup? what do you boil it in, old pot or something? you must do it in a workshop or something, just saying the smell of cosmo warps my wife.

I have always placed them on a tin foil coated pan and placed them in the over 250 or slightly higher and the grease melts off enough so that I can use paper towels to clean up.

Or use your wife's blow dryer to melt the cosmoline and use the paper towels. There are many paths to cosmoline removal goals.

I had to buy my own hair dryer but it does double duty in my little forge.

Sure, why wouldn't it, heat is heat and cosmoline melts with heat.

I went to Walmart and bought a cheap, stainless steel pan, with the fan on my wife doesn't even know what I am doing. I also pour the hot water outside so that the smell won't come up the drain pipe.

A real heat gun works better. I also use hair dryers and heat guns for cold bluing. If you keep the metal nice and hot when you apply you get a much deeper, better looking blue.
