Its simply amazing how inept this administration is. I guess before the journalist Foley was beheaded by those peaceful Muslims, there was an attempt to rescue him and in classic Carter/Democrat fashion it failed utterly. Democrats and fail, its what they do.

The operation didn't fail because of Obama. The guy simply wasn't where the intel said he'd be. As far as operation Eagle Claw under Carter. I did an OpDec critic after that mission and there were lots and lots of problems with equipment, planning, etc. Not really Carters fault for the failure. Things would have turned our differently were that mission to happen today.
As far as releasing/leaking the failed attempt that's a different story. Never tell the enemy about your successes and never, never tell them about your mistakes.

They released this information to try and back pedal the stupidity of Obama going back out on a Golf Course in 10 minutes after being in front of the cameras.
