    Here's an interesting thought...

Even if 0bola doesn't achieve a significant foothold world wide...what does the world's reaction to and containment of this event, say about the next "Spanish Flu"...

Based on current events, we can clearly see an airborne contagion become unmanageable within weeks...

This Might Be The Worst Job At An Ebola Clinic
When someone is at the height of the illness (typically after five or more days), one-fifth of a teaspoon of that person's blood can carry 10 billion viral Ebola particles.

ALERT: U.S. Army researchers at USAMRIID confirm Ebola variant was airborne in 1990
Cited from "The Hot Zone" by Richard Preston, beginning on page 272 of the soft cover print edition...

"Ebola... jumped quickly from room to room... a lot like influenza"
What happened in that building was a kind of experiment. Now they would see what Ebola could do naturally in a population of monkeys living in a confined space, in a kind of city, as it were.

The Ebola Reston virus jumped quickly from room to room, and as it blossomed in the monkeys, it seemed to mutate spontaneously into something that looked quite a lot like influenza. But it was an Ebola flu.

The monkeys died with great quantities of clear mucus and green mucus running from their noses, mixed with blood that would not clot. Their lungs were destroyed, rotten and swimming with Ebola virus. They had pneumonia. When a single animal with a nosebleed showed up in a room, generally 80 percent of the animals died in that room shortly afterward. The virus was extraordinarily contagious in monkeys.

"...could look like the flu... a different strain could appear in a month's time... drifted through the air-handling ducts"
The Institute scientists suspected that they were seeing a mutant strain of Ebola, something new and a little different from what they had seen just a month before, in December, when the Army had nuked the monkey house. It was frightening -- it was as if Ebola could change its character fast -- and could look like the flu. As if a different strain could appear in a month's time.

According to the Associated Press, President Obama has announced that the CDC will respond in a “much more aggressive way” to cases of Ebola in the United States. The President has ordered the CDC to institute “rapid response teams”. When we combine this directive with what we are seeing in HHS and DHS documents regarding “isolation” camps, it is very difficult to not conclude that Americans suspected of Ebola and those with exposure to Ebola are soon going to swat-teamed by the CDC.

Impossible, haven't you been reading this thread? There has never been a case of a disease killing a large percentage of the population, and there never will be.

Hagel orders military medical team to train, get ready for quick response to more Ebola cases in US
The Defense Department said Sunday that it is preparing a quick-response medical team to help health-care professionals should the Ebola virus spread in the United States.

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel ordered the training of the 30-member team and said the effort was in response to a Department of Health and Human Services request.

Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby said the move is “an added, prudent measure to ensure our nation is ready to respond quickly, effectively and safely in the event of additional Ebola cases.”

The military is already assisting in efforts to stop the spread of Ebola in West Africa, where roughly 4,300 people have died so far this year from the virus.

Last week, six U.S. military planes delivered more supplies and 100 Marines to West Africa. The Marines’ arrival means roughly 300 U.S. service members are now in the region, said Maj. Gen. Darryl A. Williams, the commander leading the U.S. response.

I heard, this morning on Glenn Beck, that 3 more "fly-ins" from Africa are showing signs of possible ebola virus. One flew in to NJ and the other two went to Chicago (I think).

Nope, we don't need to ban traffic coming in from affected countries. Our Pres. and Frieden have everything under control.

On a more local note, there was a 1050 PI (vehicle accident with personal injuries) in wich a hispanic male injured in a car crash was to medevac to a trauma center about 50 miles away. He was conscious and alert, and reported bleeding from an orifice to the medics. The local hospital wich was only a few minutes away, upon that report by the on scene medics, told them to wait for the medevac and not to transport him to the hospital.

Since Frieden refuses to issue Federal Protocol guidelines on how to handle those heath care workers returning from Ebola countries, each state appears to be doing their own thing with returnees.

This is causing some concern among Doctors Without Borders as confusion seems to be the main course on the menu.

All of this could have been prevented IF the CDC had issued guidelines on how to handle these cases.

But, that's about par for the course on Obama/Frieden's watch: too little, too late, no worries
