    i have a .35 remington

marlin 336c. I cannot seem to find ammo anywhere. it is running 25 to 40 dollar per 20,
but hell there is none to be found. is it because it is an unusual round or are they phasing it out?

no, it's very popular and most companies only make seasonal runs of it.
Even with the $$$$ they want a box , folks still dish it out.
Between now and the end of the month most places should start putting it on the shelves.

Our local walmart during winter you can get ANY caliber on the shelf.

Yeah, keep checking walmart, I have a hard time imagining they wouldn't have it during hunting season, unless you are in a shotgun only state.

Before they started making cases for the 8x50r Lebel I used to run into the same problem with the .348 Winchester cases I used at the time. They made them but only for a short time every year or so. You had to get them when the gettin was good or wait until the next run the following year.

My in put is the same; seasonal availability. It is a very old school cartridge (1906) and not overly produced by current firearms makers. The Marlin 336 is probably the most common modern rifle chambered in it that is still in production. Remington was making it in the Model 7 but it is not currently in their catalogue as an offering in that chambering.

    i had a few marlins and a few remington Model 14's and 141's .
I made up 147gr hard cast loads just for plinking that ran about 875 FPS. Had a pile of factory ammo which rocked you on the lighter guns.
Really wanted the semi rifle but never found one in police mode, so I made $$$$$$$ off the rifles and close to 1000 rounds when my interest changed.
