US Constitution: Article 1 Section 8 Paragraph 4

The Congress shall have Power To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization
How come we're not seeing the pundits and talking heads, and above all else the conservative alternative media, shouting this from the rooftops daily????

The chief executive has no authority to take any action that would disrupt the "uniform" rules of naturalization; zip, zero, nadda! That is the sole purview of the Congress ONLY.

Folks, please get this out. Share it on other gun boards, facebook, myspace, mybutt, anywhere and everywhere. The general population has no idea what's in the Constitution, we need this to get out as an education outreach. Please spread it far and wide.

Thanks. I definitely will and I will remind my Senators and Representatives as well.

Naturally there was a context for that.

(of George III) . . . has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for the Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither
    From the Declaration of Independence

The idea being once out of the hands of the King, it wouldn't fall into the hands of the governors of the colonies, but be a uniform rule for the entire country.

Not saying anyone posting is wrong in any way, just giving some context

The "chief executive" doesn't have the authority to do 90% of the shit he does. But, when nobody cares and nobody stops him, why should HE care?

Sadly, the lack of responses in this thread would indicate that you are very correct in your assessment.

They have been as far as I can tell, but we're living in the age of the low-info voter. You can tell all the people you want, but if they don't have the desire or critical thinking abilities to look into it, it's going to take some time to get the word out and get them to care.....that gov't cheese is a powerful drug.
"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time; the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them. ... Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever."--Thomas Jefferson

I just sent the following to my Senators and Representative.

President Obama is considering using an Executive Order to change the laws concerning immigration, specifically granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. The Constitution, Article 1, section 8, paragraph 4 states “The Congress shall have power to … establish a uniform rule of naturalization.” It does not say that the President, when Congress has not done what he wants, shall establish a uniform rule of naturalization. Our Constitution specifically states that it is the job of Congress to establish the rule to be followed for naturalization. As an elected member of Congress who has sworn to “uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States” I ask that you demand that the President abide by the Constitution. If he does not and insists on trying to change laws by Executive Order I ask that you take the necessary actions to ensure he Executive Order is not able to be enforced.

    Very Respectfully,

Regretfully, both John Crybaby Boehner and Bitch McConnell have been confirmed as the leaders of their respective bodies for the next congress, and McConnell has already assured there will be no fight on those exec. orders...thereby capitulating to the liar in chief...

This is pretty instructive on what to expect from the next do-nothing congress:

Congressional Dysfunction Soars in Post-Election Return

This part of the article I find most ironic:

And as lawmakers from both parties converged on the U.S. Capitol, liberal donors were descending on the Mandarin Oriental hotel in southwest Washington for the opening session of the Democracy Alliance’s winter meetings.
    Most apt!
