    Suomi MP44 9mm Pistol

Can you guys tell me who builds the Suomi MP44 9mm Pistol ?? Is it a Surplus Gun that is Imported into the U.S.? Or is it built by Century Arms of Someone else.
I like the look of the "Pistol". I believe it is a Military Surplus Gun that has the Underfolder Stock Tack Welded to where it can be called a Pistol and thus imported into the U.S. and not have to go by 922 Rules?
I would like to know if it is a Military Surplus Imported Gun Made in Finland?
    or
Is it a Copy of a Militart Gun built by Century Arms?

    Thanks

It is built in, (assuming you are talking about this one) the US from parts kits. They were full automatic so they would not be importable and suitable for sale to US citizens. It is the PPS43, it is a Russian / Soviet design. It was the manufacturing cost reduced answer to the PPS41.

Not Finnish if this is what you are talking about, Soviet / Russian design. The manufacturer is Inter Ordnance out of North Carolina. http://www.ioinc.us/

These ones are built from the start as closed bolt semis with all the denial features IE: new receiver shape blocks F/A bolt, where it hinges is dimensionally different as well so it wont accept a F/A lower. Stock usually is not welded but the release plunger is removed and replaced by a rivet. only thing ATF cares about is 'readily convertible" and the normal joe will lose his mind trying to un-bungle that stock assembly.

IO is just the importer. Almost all of this stuff is made by Radom.
bolts have a 2 piece firing pin and the trigger group is very similar to a Saiga.

It's cheaper to buy one of these pistols VS building your own semi from a kit just due to the tooling and time .

Hadn't bothered to look on their web site for it. But I just did. Made at the famous Polish Radom Plant.
THE PPS43-C pistols are brand new in the box. Includes four magazines. The folding stock is not functional. The mechanism is disabled and it has been welded in place. Comes with 2 magazines.
http://www.ioinc.us/pps43-c.html Looks like they call it the PPS-43C and yes imported from Radom. So it should be a cut above the cobbled together kit guns IO has offered up in the past.
