The article is talking about the disparity of arrest rates between Blacks and Whites.

While there are legitimate reasons for this disparity, the ACLU jumps to the wrong conclusion and will wade into it now, seeking a specific goal (not the one that would help solve the problem).

Even a law professor at the University of Pittsburg sees the real problem:

"That does not mean police are discriminating," David Harris, a law professor at the University of Pittsburgh, told the paper.


Of course, the ACLU sees it differently:

"Something needs to be done about that," Ezekiel Edwards, head of the ACLU's Criminal Law Reform Project, told the paper. "In 2014, we shouldn't continue to see this kind of staggering disparity wherever we look."

As usual, the ACLU has no common sense reasoning skills and is going to put pressure on police forces to not arrest so many Black people, totally ignoring why their actions would warrant an arrest, in the first place.

They are just perpetuating the problem further.

The ACLU is just a tool used by liberals to further the breakdown of American values and culture.

They are nothing more than a "legalized terrorist" group that is free to operate within our judicial system.

No, I think the ACLU is spot on on this matter. We lock way too many people up in this country, stripped of their freedoms, due to all the increasing bullshit laws on the books and crazy out-of-control extended sentences so many judges hand out, often with their hands tied due to harsh mandatory minimum sentences mandated by various legislatures in this country.

The War on Drugs in particular has been a terrible pox on this nation. It's time to decriminalize the shit, empty our jails and prisons, and restore the Fourth Amendment.
