Nope, but I do always have a hard wired phone in my house. I have a cell phone but it is just a cell phone, nothing fancy like a smart phone.

Everything is closed here (Western New York) Thursday & Friday. Best yet, I don't have to charge my "absences" to leave accruals. Free vacation days! (As if I don't get enough already).

I have an old rotary phone from the 1960's. It's HEAVY bakelite, uses a carbon microphone and a mechanical rotary dial. It's not quite as "old" looking as yours, but it looks older than a "modern" 1980's dial phone.

It has non-coiled (straight) cotton covered wires. I had to make a little adapter box to be able to connect the phone wires to a modular phone jack. I didn't want to modify the phone, so I made an adapter that connects to the end of the wire. It's a modular wall jack that the phone spade lugs are wired to, then a short "pigtail" of two male modular connectors to connect the box to the wall (which in turn is connected to the phone).

Nice this is that it works even when there's a power outage.

People many times ask me "what kind of phone are you on? It sounds really clear". How about that?

    Especially the news...

But for the things that are really "fake", I don't want so much definition that they look even more fake, that just ruins it.

Typical Aleutian Hell. Pissin' rain and blowin' like a bastid.

It should get up to about 70 F today, sunny and the low around 50 F.

Supposed to hit the low 60s today, but lots of snow still around from the last storm.

Hopefully the heat will melt off a lot of hit, cause tomorrow we're supposed to get another cold front.

Gonna drag the bikes out today and fire them up for some short rides around town. Haven't winterized them yet and it's been awhile since I could ride, don't want any gummed up carbs.

Well actually our friends in TEXAS have always suffered MUCH WORSE. I think some of the worst floods I've been in have been in Texas, Tennessee and Missouri. I don't count any Hurricane related flooding, just flooding because of regular rain storms.
