    Buying ammo at the store.

When you guys ammo are they asking for id, phone numbers, addresses?
Someone mentioned that they were asked for their phone number and when they refused the register halted, so the cashier called the mgr. Mgr shows up and puts a id card into the register and completes the transaction. The screen showed something about tsa stemming from the mgrs id card being inserted so the customer asked the mgr what tsa was doing in/at the store and mgr said couldn't talk about it. If factual my guess is they're using tsa to compile lists of current ammo/gun buyers.

It's state by state or store policy.

Some states require it, most don't.

I've never been asked here, most stores have a sign up saying you have to be 18 to buy it. Sadly, I don't get carded for anything anymore

I have not seen this and this is the first I have heard of this.
what does transportation admin have to do with this. never mind all these groups are joined at the sphincter.

TSA = Top sales associate, ie: the manager.

When the manager slid his card it probably scanned it as a "TSA override" to the stores ID policy

The only time that I have to provide ID when buying ammo is when I buy it on line....Why are there helicopters over my house right now?

I've been asked for my phone number before, I've never given my phone number.

That may very well be but I think mention was made of the tsa/dhs symbol not just the letters tsa.

Sounds like you aren't very sure on that.

I've never heard of such, but I have seen managers do a "tsa override" or get called to do one in stores more than once.

Just a thought, might have been that...dunno.

If there is anything like what your suggesting going on, then I suppose we will hear more about it in the near future...could be some new thing

In DC your ammo has to be registered and it has to be of the same caliber of a firearm you have registered. Not sure you can by ammo anywhere in DC though. I know we had a woman arrested last week at near the White House and one of the charges was carrying unregistered ammo.

I just bought some pistol ammo @ Cabela's earlier today.

Was told I had to show my driver's license & give my phone #. Have never had to do this before in gun-friendly Indiana. In the commie state of IL where I live yes, but never before in IN.

they always ask for a phone number at cabelas, even if you just buy a t-shit. just them building their database so they can either profit on selling your info to other marketers or spam the shit out of you themselves.
