    Riot suppression, brit style

    Picked up this "gem" today

Catco sten, slightly modded. The front sight (which isn't actually fixed on the barrel) seems to have been cut off of an sks and welded to a "base" so it's fully adjustable, and the stock is horribly short because it's intended to be used with a pistol grip (and it was upside down)

No idea what I'm going to do with it. Yes, I am well aware of their reputation.

So is it a semi close bolt or a full auto open bolt?

closed bolt semi.... it's a 94awb version as well using molested MK5 furniture

even something as simple as a sten in F/A i doubt catco could have gotten that right either.

would take me about 2 hours or so to remake the internals VS the nightmare within that little tube.

I have always liked the looks of the Sten. The magazine coming out the side I think is cool. Of course it is set up for a right hander not a left hander, but other than that I really like them.

Is that your way of admitting that you don't know?

    they made several "Attempts"

I've seen , hammer, striker and something that resembled a jigsaw puzzle inside Catcos.

    you have to look .

I sent you a PM as to "why" you have to look for yourself.

Took it out yesterday, it's ammo picky. Worked 100% with federal bulk pack stuff, tula had light primer strikes, federal aluminum cases had light primer strikes, and my old s&b "range safe" stuff worked pretty well.

Had no issues with feeding or extraction, light primer strikes were the only problem, which I am hoping to correct by replacing the striker spring with a heavy 1911 recoil spring.

I can't imagine that those are very comfortable, and I kind of like the looks with the mk5 stock, it balances out the stupid barrel extension better.

I've actually been lucky enough to shoot a Mk V Sten full auto. I really like it a lot, not overly fast in rate of fire but controllable and fairly accurate.
