    lubrication info q

    gunslick
    break free clp
    rem oil.

I have read some about this and they all claim the same. we be the best.
do any of you have insight you are willing to share?

I have always used 3&1 for a light sheen of oil. wipe down put away.
I have also always used gunslick for lube.

now there seems to be a whole new industry for these products,

I use Breakfree CLP on everything.
It Cleans, it Lubricates, and it Protects.
    Works well for me.

Ditto. The exception being when I buy some old milsurp iron that's been "rode hard & put away wet". Then I break out the Shooter's Choice which is great for removing copper & lead fouling. For extra dirty bores I use a product called Blue Wonder which comes in a tube in gel form. It's also great for removing superficial rust from blued parts without damaging the finish. You can find it @ Cabela's or online.

I used 3-in-1 for years until I found out that it turns to varnish. I had it gum up some old guns in the back of the safe that I don't shoot often. Don't use it.

The instructor at an armor's course I recently attended gave every student a bottle of Slip-2000 Extreme Weapons Lube (EWL) and a bottle of Slip-2000 725 gun cleaner/degreaser to take home. The instructor swears by the stuff and now he's got me using it on a regular basis. The lube won't gel, freeze, or dry-up. You only need a small amount and it makes metal slicker than a hoo-haw. Before that I used Rem-Oil and always thought it was okay but not great.

I use Remoil for lube and protection (I apply it once a month to every firearm not being used, and as needed for guns that are frequently used). Hoppes No. 9 to clean (especially if/ when firing corrosive surplus through the Mosin).

The best one is the one you use... There are a lot of really good products out there now days, I prefer CLP, but I'll use rem oil in a pinch and not feel bad. I would recommend using an actual gun oil as opposed to a liquid lube, just 'cause it will stay better.

I use wilson combat ultima lube ll, stays where you put it, slippery as pelican snot and doesn't run all over the place in 100+ degree temps we get in the desert

I used Tetra for a long time, good stuff. I bought a bottle of the ultima on a whim, tried it on my 1911s, and use it on everything now.

There was one a few years ago at one of the big reservoir lakes a few years, don't know how he got so far from home.
