That is why you have to read it in context to understand it, as well as understanding how it relates to the entire Bible. From what you have posted you have a very specific idea of what you think is in the Bible but very little knowledge of what is actually there. For example, there is no prohibition against wealth, Abraham, Job, Daniel, David, Joseph of Arimethia, and the un-named patrons that supported Jesus and the Apostles, to name a few, were very wealthy, and very powerful. There is a prohibition against selfishness, but that does not prevent people from being wealthy.
