    Anyone here have a Remington Model 8 or 81?

    I found what might be a nice buy in an excellent grade rifle in 35 Remington.

    I looked around and the ammo is VERY hard to find right now...
    We found out what "dealing" with progressive lefties is all about. Our side gives up something, they give up nothing and the progressives come back in a month or a year and want us to give up more... rinse and repeat...

    how much as in nice buy??



    Unless you're casting your own bullets and have dies/brass, a semi .35rem is $$$ to feed.

    Don't have one but have always thought there were pretty interesting. From what I've read the .35 Remington was/is the only caliber of the ones offered worth having, from a ballistic standpoint any way. Not up on pricing but seems like there are a couple different models/grades, some bringing more than others.

    Auction is at $350 no reserve... Rifle looks nearly new...
    It is an 81...

    I'd buy it for that much if not more, say $400-$425.

    What I'm seeing as a normal range is $500 to $800 with rare sub-types going for more...

    I can't find ammo in stock anywhere...

    Starting at $350 , that's good.


    Figure most areas just went through white tail season so most yearly stocks of .35rem are gone till spring.
    only choice would be to reload.



    I never had a model 8.. had all the other .35rem guns and an unknown amount of ammo.

    IMHO for hunting.
    I'd go with a Marlin 336 .

    the 205's and 220's rock you BUT they'll tackle anything you got in your neck of the woods.



    If you slick up a 336, you can stay on point and fire again much faster than a model 8.

    no kidding now. I have been looking for .35 rem for a couple of months or so, cannot find any.
    some places are even asking us to quit asking them. no back order, no supply.

    I have a Remington Model 141 pump rifle in .35 Remington that I never shoot just for that reason It depends if you are a collector or a shooter
