    Sheldon Silver, Speaker of New York Assembly, Is Accused of Taking Millions in Graft

    The powerful speaker of the New York State Assembly, Sheldon Silver, was arrested on federal corruption charges on Thursday and accused of using the power of his office to solicit millions in bribes and kickbacks, according to court documents.

    The arrest of Mr. Silver, a Democrat from the Lower East Side of Manhattan who has served as speaker for more than two decades, sent shock waves through the political establishment and upended the new legislative session.

    The governor of NY (Andrew "Safe Act" Cuomo) had setup a committee to find corruption and waste in NY government. Then, he abruptly pulled the plug on the investigation. Rumor has it that his committee was getting close to finding shit on Sheldon Silver AND the governor.

    Also, as I hear this investigation is not limited to Silver (precisely because Cuomo pulled the plug so quick). They want to find what he was hiding, and I pray Andy ends up doing the perp walk too.......
