    maybe someone can help.

I have a Rem. 742 woodsmaster in '06. I want to disassemble the rifle to look at the rails the bolt rides on. I lost what I was reading, but the discussion was about how the rails can mess up after
it gets to a heavy round count and I have no way to know what the count is. anyway I need some lit or a website where I can pull some info, I have some material but it is reprints and it is hard to see the illustrations. I gonna check you boob in a minute. we'll see what happens.

i think it might take down the same as the 760's, unscrewing the "tube" that the slide rides on (or the forearm in your case) then pulling the barrel straight forward. teh bolt can then slide out the front of the receiver.

did find the ejection port cover I broke for 6.99 with free shipping.

My advise is to go to Remington's web site and look around. Maybe give them a call. Here are links to various pages.
