Rusty Rails .

Got myself a WW AK74 with rusty rails so I'm soaking it in Evapo-Rust ,let you know in a week if it works.

I would have just used a little elbow grease and scotch brite myself. But what the hell, might learn from your results.

Alright, I'm curious how this goes. Recently picked up an M8 flare pistol with a bunch of rust under a riveted-on cover. Completely inaccessible. Reading up on evapo rust it sounds like this stuff may be what I need.

This is how I'm doing it and so far the rust is going away.

Oh, I've seen stuff that looked like rust but it was some kind of residue that eventually with stuff like WD40 came out.

So I'm guessing this means the residue is around the side mount scope rail.

Use a toothbrush and a penetrator/ rust remover/ lubricator. CLP or whatever you like.
