    Thumbs up Chris Reeve Umnumzaan

Been wanting one of these ever since I got my CRK Sebenza, in fact I've had one on preorder and canceled it more than once. Just didn't see how it could be better than the Sebenza. Glad I finally pulled the trigger because this one is absolutely superb!!

I've got hundreds of knives from literally dozens of makers ranging from the most inexpensive to pretty spendy semi-custom models. All have their attributes, some are heavy duty while others are more lightweight gentleman's blades. Regardless I appreciate them all for what they bring to the table and in some cases what they don't bring. Much like with firearms collecting and shooting I appreciate the item for the basic tool it is but also the accomplishment of design and manufacture. With the Umnumzaan that accomplishment of design and manufacture is impeccable. I believe you could use this knife day in and day out and from a use standpoint it would be as mechanically sound and reliable at the end of those 20 years as was on the first day. The quality is just that good.

There are a lot of knives that will do the same job this one will do that cost a lot less. I should know as I probably own at least one example of each. This is kind of like owning a Savage 110 and a pre64 Winchester Model 70. Both will pretty much shoot the same, which in my case is better than I can usually hold but the Winchester just makes you feel special for what ever time you have the good fortune to have it in your care. I guess it's more pride in ownership than anything else. In the case of my Umnumzaan it will see it's fair share of pocket time and I won't avoid using it for the tool it is but I think I'm going to enjoy using it just a little more than some others. Anyway, just wanted to share with you all and if you have any questions about the blade or Chris Reeve Knives or as always, knives in general please feel free to ask.

Wow, that is what I look at for guns that I carry in the woods. Must be very good.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

For a production (non custom) folder it is, IMHO the very best money can buy.

Most I've ever spent on a blade is $65.
