    Measles Outbreak? Thank Obama

The recent outbreak of Measles in So. Cal. is most likely because of Obama's immigration policy (of no immigration policy).

Most, if not all, of those illegal kids Obama let in, were not screened for infectious diseases. Who knows what diseases they are carrying?

Measles was reduced to a non-issue in the US for the past 20-30 years so that parents had the option of vaccinating their kids, or not. Now, those who weren't vaccinated are the ones being hit.

Not only is Obama trying to destroy America, but he's trying to kill as many Americans as he can. First, it was ebola, but that didn't work out so well, so now, it's measles. I guess we'll find out how effective a weapon that turns out to be.

Damn, we're in a war and no one realizes it.

I'm beginning to believe that terrorists have not just infiltrated the White House, they ARE the White house.

Completely agree. Putin is our Hitler. Or, Stalin....Take your pic. Pulling the same games. Stalin (Putin) is about to attempt to retake the eastern block countries. If I lived in them, I'd seriously be considering moving out of Europe.

Ali - news today was reporting that the CDC had declared measles "rendered extinct" in the U.S. back in 2000.
With the increases in illegals, not just from Mexico, but from all the "political refugees" from Somalia, the Mideast, etc., we have been "importing" new sources for years.
It has finally caught up with us.

First, lets not pretend the other 43 presidents did anything about securing that border.

And second, Mexico is better about vaccinations for kids than the US is. They average 96% vaccination rate against measles (for infants 12-24 months)and have for over a decade, whereas we barely break 92%. They also have had several years where they got up to 99% while we never broke 92%.

    Question:

If that graph were true, and not some propaganda sheet to take the heat off of Obama's "let anyone in" immigration plan, since NONE of these kids were screened before they came into our country, how do we know that all the ones, that came in, had their vaccination shots up to date?

    Answer:

    We don't.

Of the 800,000 kids that came in, even if only 4% were carrying the measles virus, that's still 32,000 kids capable of infecting other people.

    That graph really proves nothing.

First off, there is no way in hell 4% were carrying the measles virus. Were that the case we would be seeing a pandemic, not a rather small epidemic. At most, likely 4% weren't vaccinated...this doesn't make them carriers, it just makes them not vaccinated. Just like approximately 8% of Americans aren't.

But the fact is they don't have the same hangup in Mexico about not vaccinating kids that a shocking number of US citizens do.

Sure it's possible it came in from Mexico, but had our kids been vaccinated better it wouldn't have been much of an issue.

BTW, it's also possible it came from Germany, England, etc.

As an aside, I have a feeling that those border jumping kids who came here with nothing, probably aren't spending cash they need for things like food, on trips to Disneyland instead.

Accusing our Kenyan president of orchestrating anything of this magnitude is ridiculous. There is nothing in his entire life that demonstrates the qualities that it would take to pull this off. Someone once referred to him as a post turtle. I believe that is true. So, it would be best to accuse those who put the turtle on the post rather than the turtle.

Who said the illegal with the measles had to have come from mexico? Could have been from further south of the border.

That is more likely. Wasn't the recent surge of children dropped on our doorstep from El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and other countries south of mexico? The only thing mexico did was give them a free bus ride to the U.S. border.

All three of those countries have higher vaccination rates than the US.
