Angry After Reclassifying 5.45, ATF Now Looks At M855

Sporting propose needs to end quickly. Years ago it was 7.62x39, then last year it was 5.45x39, and now they are going for the 5.56.

I don't have anything nice to say, so I won't say anything at all.

I thought M855 was specifically exempted by law. These regs are designed to make them impervious to the peons when they decide to complete their plans.

There are many export and import companies and US manufacturers who will now convert full time to part time (employees) or worse, new middle class Americans to the welfare rolls. This is and was a huge market and most ball ammo was simply used for target practice. I used to buy on SG IMI .223 ball and I noticed this morning it jumped to $132 for 300 rds and last week was $102 and with "clearance" marked on it. Kill 2 birds with one stone, was an import from Israel., with a Congress unwilling to take on Obama for obvious reasons with his EO's we will be run over for the next 2 yrs., and probably longer the way these young people vote, not to mention the newly imported voters soon to be from south of the border. all I can say is WOW, the U.S. is coming apart at the seams., what used to be right in now wrong, and what was wrong in now right. I guess my dad and g-pa where nut jobs according to the BS they are shoveling these days. The gang bangers will be buying buckshot next week and then what?

    How do we stop this?

HOW did they get to the point they get to BAN things, with the force of laws?

Government employees have the best benefits as far as top pay, vacation, taxpayer funded cars, cell phones, travel expenses, bonuses, with the least amount of work for a reason and they WilL grasp onto that carrot of retirement pension at ALL costs. Fuck this nation might as well replace land of the free and home of the brave as our motto.

Just Do as the masters will cause guaranteed that these orders don't start mid level, this is top down policy.

We won't stop it. The lefts (devils) brutal agenda via indoctrination is being slammed into the publics brains through every avenue possible. Our false sense of freedom is just as much a burden as shackles and chains.

I bought a 1,000 rd case of m855 less than a year ago, right after the Nazi's decided to ban 5.45. Will stick to buying m193 now, but what are we going to do when they ban THAT guys? At what point to people gather to fight back?

the ruling states that the ss109 were originally exempted because even thought they are "armor piercing" by the atf definition, there were no commercially available 223 pistols at the time, so they were not illegal "ap pistol ammo"

    These AR-type
handguns were not commercially available when the armor piercing ammunition exemption was
granted in 1986. To ensure consistency, upon final implementation of the sporting purpose
framework outlined above, ATF must withdraw the exemptions for 5.56 mm “green tip”
ammunition, including both the SS109 and M855 cartridges
so, to follow this logic, then why have real 223 ap m995 black tip not been available up to this point as well?

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

I dont see the word "Sporting" in there do you??

Since the constitution means nothing to these murderers why should anything they say matter to us?

I bought 545 when it was cheap. I have 7 cans of it. The gun club I belong to bans steel core ammo. I had to cut the tip of all the brands of 762x54r to show them it was lead core.....chris

I got completely out of AK's when they banned 5.45. Only AR's now. Truth be told, I prefer AK's, but have great respect and love for the AR platform. Plus, I believe fully where I see this country going in my lifetime, and I'd rather be shooting what everyone else is when those days come.

Sometimes miss the ak's though. Damned good weapons. But love my Bushy A2 and DPMS Mk12.

Well I just got an alert from the NRA about this. I'd like to believe there is something we could do to fight it but we have a system where regulatory agencies can make policy decisions that have the affect of law. Until congress finds some balls I doubt we can stop this sort of behavior.

The M855 was designed for rifles first. That somebody came up with an AR pistol later should be irrelevant to the legal status of the round. Like Recon said, I expect there to be a run on M855 ammo and projectiles now ... just as they were starting to come down in price. Mutha-Fuckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!
