what is a good test

for this pc? I am looking for a good processor stress test.
something that will give me a performance idea of this computer.
would like something you have used and I can trust not to be
nefarious.

I know i can find these with a search but it is a trust issue.

For memory error and performance testing I use memtest wich can be found on one of the best free pc tools known to man;
https://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
memtest is great as it will reveal settings changes of the minutest detail in the mem system and with absolutely repeatable results. Many benchmarks will give different results on the same pc depending upon the time of day, price of oil, etc etc. Not memtest.

For overall benchmarking I like to use Pttest wich tests just about everything;

It has baselines from other pcs to compare your results to.

For video benching I usualy use 3dmark;

But 3dmark's a d3d not opengl test, so for opengl try this one;

I have a problem with these sites, not the ones you mentioned but overall.
as soon as I went to one last night my a/v software said " don't do it, but if you wish click here "
I did anyway. clicked on the test to run and as soon as I did my a/v
software quarantined a Trojan.

back out of that, went to another site and I had to download other things to continue.
no way jose. I understand that they do this, it is to pay for the site. so I have an option and I
chose no.

so we'll see.
