Flintlock from 1700s could land elderly NJ man in prison

Perhaps this will go to scrotus and be the means by wich this pernicious infringement can be overturned.
"And how we burned in the camps later thinking, what would things have been like, if every security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain, whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family?"

Idiotic gun law from an idiotic state.

However, he should NEVER have had it in the glove compartment, in the first place. If it had been in the trunk, none of this would have happened, but, that's beside the point.

He should have not been charged at all (see my first statement above).

I doubt they're used much by ganstas, but I'm sure the Mafia uses them all the time...

If it was in his glovebox, how the hell did the cop know about it?

(I'll bet the idiot consented to a search).

I would guess that most people keep their registration card/insurance papers in the glove box. Knowing the cop would see the gun when he opened it, he, probably, told them he had it in there. It went to hell from there....

    That's what happened.

Meanwhile, we'll see how this plays out as Chris Christie wants to be the preezy. If he let's this guy go down, then his propects for a national office are done.

Not fair. They will search regardless if they want.

I posted this story on FaceBook and a friend of mine responded to me. He wanted to know where all the liberals were that say the Second Amendment only protects muskets and black powder arms? Why are they not crying foul about this blatant violation of the Second Amendment (as they believe it to be)? Shows more liberal hypocrisy.

That isn't even a "firearm" according to federal law - right? Isn't it something like "1898 or newer"?

Not if the windows are up and the car is locked. If the cops breaks in to do an illegal search, I'll see him in court.

(I should have done that in purple, huh?)

Well then all those liberals shouldn't be on Facebook or even own computers. After all, when the First Amendment was written, the founding fathers could have never forseen the Internet and global digital communications. Turn off the TV too, and sell the car. Use a horse and buggy.

They should write all documents with a quill pen, read only books made on manual type presses and expect their mail to take months to reach it's destination.
