I thought as soon as I heard that the current Director was resigning that it was to provide cover to the rest of the Democrats. Apparently (D)Israel didn't get that memo or deliberately ignored it.

Whereas before, the administration could blow off calls for the ATF's neutering by saying it was a mistake by a previous director, now it's multiple directors who are doing this and adding fuel to the 'Ban the ATF' movement in congress.
