    What should I get?

I sold my truck, (and made a profit in the process) so I have a little money I can spend. It's been too long since I bought a gun, but what to get?

How much money are we talking and where do your interests lie?

If I had $500 to spend or $5000 I might not buy the same thing.

Some purchases I would like to be making are:

    NIB Star PD

    Milled underfolder AK in 7.62x39

    Vepr in 7.62x54r

20" AR from PSA with CHF barrel and the new Primary Arms 5x prism scope (affordable ACOG type).

Or how about a PTR-91 with the same scope as above?

Or a Zastava M77 and the parts required to de-ban it?

AR pistol with arm brace? Or maybe a PAP M92 with arm brace?

    Tavor, SCAR, or ARX-180?

    M1-a or Garand?

Colt is blowing out M4's for around $860 at a few vendors.

I second the motion for the Tavor. But this is an AK based site, hold off a little, soon the Galil will be back 1st in 7.62x39 then 556 and later 308.

It also matters what you already have and what you are into. Self-defense shooting will push you in a different direction than three-gun, or long range, or plinking. What are your shooting interests/goals.

This ultimately needs to be answered. There have been some good suggestions but until you identify your field of interest a suitable suggestion is going to be hard to come by. Myself, if I had the cash available I'd do an AR15 SBR in .300 Blackout and get a suppressor for it. Yep, $400 it Fed tax stamps, but man it would be a sweet number.

I lean towards historic/interesting firearms. Right now I would love to get a Lugar with Nazi markings. If it had matching serial numbers that would be even better.

That is some big money right there. Luger collectors are insane what they pay for them.

Which is why I am still in the "love to have" category and not in the "look what I just bought" category.

I've got all my bases covered really, Mostly just looking for a toy. Under $1000. I'd really like an AUG, but I just can't justify the $1700 (plus accessories.)

If you don't have one already, how about a KelTec PMR-30 in .22 Mag?
Polymer pistol with a 30 rd. magazine, MSRP of ~$430, ammo around here running about $0.12 per round.

The CZ Scorpion seems like a nice choice(I can't afford one). But, in the neat toy department, consider the Kel Tec PMR30 matched with the carbine RMR30.
You should be able to find them both for less than a grand.
This is just my opinion and it's entirely correct.
