I have no idea, but it certainly is a handsome pistol.

Seems decent for a commercial model vice a military model. Might be a bit high but I am going from memory and not from any actual research. Seems about $800-$1000 for commercial and $1500 and up for military. That has the box so that is a big plus.

I tried to push the envelope, but found that it was stationery.

I'd say it is a commercial Mauser Luger. Box looks 1970's vintage. I suspect the price is fair, but I'm no Luger expert.

I have just signed up for the VA Gun Trader site. Seems interesting and I might find a good deal before I leave VA.

Commercial, "Mauser" made broomhandles with the same finish around the same time , they are more of a collector thing VS a wholesale marketed reproduction. The C96's had that big silly banner on the sides too.

with the box $1100 is fair, BUT if you really shop around you can get the real deal sometimes for hundreds less.

Thank you all for the replies. Not in the market for a Luger but it is one of those iconic designs I would like to own at some point. Saw this listing and knowing nothing about what Lugers are selling for I thought I might as well ask and see if it was too good to let pass or what.

    Think I'll pass for now.
