    CCW Belt Choice?

As I look at CCW holsters, does the belt matter? I have a 1" wide leather belt that is pretty well made. Should I get a wider belt? Does it matter?

Have you heard about the new corduroy pillows? They're making head lines!

Thick and wide works for me. I go with 1.5" wide and either two layers or two layers with a kydex liner. Something along the lines of the Ranger belt here

I purchased mine from Looper Leather years ago and haven't needed a new one yet but I'm considering Bullhide for my next one as Looper seems to have been bought out and changed their product line.

While I went with the two layer with kydex liner when I bought me belts I've heard that Bullhide Gunbelts uses thicker leather to get the same results.

I just realized that the link Funky posted is the one I meant to post. I was looking for Bullhide belts and the belt man and got the wrong website. The Beltman is the one I've been reading good things about and who I'll be buying my next belt from.

I carried iwb on a Carhart belt that I thought was stiff. Tried a Aker concealed belt. Man, the difference of nite n day! Aker is made for concealed carry....not exactly cheap but it's worth it! 1 1/2 wide. B21.

I'm definitely of the opinion that stiffer is better for a CCW loaded belt. The Aker belts do seem quite good on paper, I may have to try one.

Your belt is just as important as your holster. 1.5 inch width will give you plenty of strength while allowing you to where to your belt with regular jeans. Belts less than 1" are meant for fancy dress, not actually holding up weight.

I recommend the Beltman 2-ply bullhide belt. I've worn mine since 2011 and it's still looking great, unlike the cheap belts that I used to have to replace every year. It is worth the cost.
