    Legit Clayco?

Is this a legit rifle? I've never heard of these (Clayco w/ bayo) before, which is why I am asking.
I have seen a picture of a Norinco 84 with matching number on the stock, but never stars on the grip.

    Thanks!

I don't know myself MJH I'm a newb still. but damn it is nice looking.
plus I do like the way the bayo locks up under the bbl.

The receiver and top cover are Clayco, along with the serial numbered parts that match the front trunion, but the barrel and stuff on it are not Clayco imported.

As far as I know Clay Center never imported a 56S variant with the underfolding bayo. I half remember that the very first imports were wood, but standard 56S before going to that odd looking plastic but I wouldn't swear to that either.

Just checked and serial number 1 as in the first Clayco had the well known "sort of black" plastic stock set.

This one looks like what in the firearm world is known as a "franken-rifle".

How far back in the safe did you have to dig to confirm this info?
