About 10 years or so ago, the students at my school were protesting something. One kid had a full sized (like 3 x 5 foot) American Flag draped over his shoulders like a cape.
I walked over to him and asked him if he knew that he was disrespecting our Flag. Blank stare, no answer.
So I pulled the Flag off him and started to fold it into the proper triangle shape. Another guy ran up, grabbed the other end and told me "he's a Boy Scout" and wants to help with the Flag.
So we pulled it tight, folded it really nicely and handed the guy back the Flag folded into a proper triangle and told him to show some respect for the Flag of his Country.
Dumbass took the flag, shook it out and put it back on as a cape.
The other guy and I looked at each other and I said "to hell with him - he's hopeless - forget about it" and we walked away.
Still pisses me off 'till this day.

That's what they were going to do, but the university closed down to prevent any problems.
From the gist of the story, it was mainly 3 black students who were protesting racism in America and this lady vet came up and took the flag off the ground and protected it.
When news about this got out, over 4,000 people, who supported her actions, were heading out to counter protest this event.
I read about 5-6 of the first comments and they say it all perfectly. They are worth a look.
