I think the MSM trying to report on gun violence to push gun control is having the opposite reaction. People are seeing the inherent logic in "the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun." Since the MSM tries to report on every crime committed by a gun (unless it happens in Chicago) people believe crime rates are going up, causing them to want to protect themselves. It is sort of funny, actually.
