Whitney was a hottie when she appeared on the TV series, Star Trek As Yeoman Janice Rand.
She had a rough life after she left the series, but she managed to get herself straight after a while.
She was a great actress and very easy on the eyes, too.

I saw that as well. I really never watched the show. I really respect the fact that not only did she get her act together. But spent a good bit of her time dedicated to others.
She was 85? Then again she was an adult in the late 1960's. We are all getting old.

At 85 it's all academic. Just call it died of being old.
Sad news.
The lady never got her due on Star Trek as her role became so marginalized, she was written out of the show.

She had a substance abuse problem DURING the show. That's why her roles were diminished until we just didn't see her at all. Sad but it happens.
That's what sucks about getting old. Everyone I've ever heard of seems to be dead or incredibly old.
