Looked like An AR more than an AK. Has a FF Handguard set, forward vertical grip and a rather straight looking magazine in it.
Sure does look like an AR-15 but we all know that anything that looks like a rifle is an "AK-47" even though the Soviets never officially called it that!
So why didn't the idiot not take the mag out before trying to stuff it down his pants?

I didn't watch the video though, it wouldn't play for me.Surveillance video captured inside Public Pawn and Gun in Davie, Florida, shows Marlon Alvarez sizing up an AK-47 before stuffing it down his pants and tucking it underneath his sweater.
Eventually, Alvarez changes his mind and swaps it out for a different assault rifle. When he starts walking out of the store, the owner notices him limping with the weapon down his pant leg.

Ridiculous. That's OBVIOUSLY an AR-15 variant. NOT an AK-47. Flagrant Misidentification like that from the press always makes my head hurt
