That's because whatever's in that report doesn't fit their agenda.

Autopsy report states the Freddie Gray's injuries were accidental, but the state medical officer still ruled it a homicide, "through acts of omission."

"The state medical examiner's office concluded that Gray's death fit the medical and legal definition of an accident. But it ruled the death to be a homicide because officers failed to follow safety procedures "through acts of omission."

There was another man in the van, in a separate compartment, who stated (shortly after this event happened) that Freddie was slamming his body into the door as hard as he could (which would explain how he received those injuries). However, no more was heard from this guy since he made that statement. Go figure.

This whole incident has been a set up from the start and when facts come to light, they are either ignored or spun into something else.

Hummm, I wonder why the black Baltimore mayor and prosecutor would seek to block Freddie Gray's autopsy report?

"Now that it is time to turn over the evidence, to ask for a protective order is beyond disingenuous," the Sun quoted him (the Police Officers' attorney, Ivan Bates) as saying."

"The move is the latest effort by Mosby's office to restrict information in the high-profile case. Prosecutors have sought a gag order to prevent participants from discussing the case in public, and have broken with a long-standing practice by not giving a copy of the autopsy report to Baltimore police."

"Bates said the protective order would allow only prosecutors and defense attorneys to see the documents, and could require the court to seal all new filings that make reference to information in the documents."

I find it interesting that the Baltimore mayor and prosecutor would make this move. I guess they don't want the truth to get out before they have a chance to try and spin it to fit their agenda.

This is what happens when one jumps to judgement before all the facts are in. Now, the city officials are scrambling to cover up as much as they can.

I think they realize they screwed the pooch too soon.

I hope this whole situation backfires on them in the worst way.

While this MAY be the reason, isn't it also possible that they are trying to avoid tainting potential jurors when/if they take these cops to trial? I wouldn't want the data released before the Grand Jury (if there will be one) sees and hears the results. If no G.J., then it should probably be held until presented at trial. Then it could be released to the public.

I have to wonder, and this is a stretch, but if Grey was trying to hurt himself in the van intentionally. If he wasn't buckled in by the cops, maybe he figured an injury might entitle him to a lawsuit and possible dismissal of his charges. Only, maybe he went too far and really hurt himself on accident. Who knows. In the end, the cops should have restrained him and buckled him in. But I won't give the piece of shit drug dealer they neglected any benefit of the doubt at all.
