    Question Any levergun fans?

Had a Marlin 39A growing up and own a Rossi Ranchhand in .357/38 now but that's it. I've seen many a Winchester sold at local auctions and was always surprised at the prices they brought particularly the ones in odd calibers or configurations. A friend had a Savage 99 that I thought was pretty neat and I'd love to own an 1895 in 30.06 or 7.62×54r. The Marlin 336 is another popular model in these parts though I've never really liked the looks of them. Anyone have a family or personal favorite they'd care to share?

Used to want a lever gun but never got around to one. In particular I fancied the .41 magnum Marlin to go with my S&W 57 revolver.

That would make a great combo rig. I'd forgotten they made them in .41 mag. I usually see .38/357, 45Colt and .44 Mag. Read an article awhile back that talked about Puma making a Winchester clone in .454 Casull some years back. Thought that might make pretty hot little truck gun.

Enjoy wasting .22LR through a Henry Carbine.

Also enjoy long range pounding with a Winchester 1895 in 30-06.

favorite i've owned was an 1860 henry in 45 colt. only lever i havent owned is an 1895 cause they go for $$$$$$ around here and my chances of finding one with a bayonet lug is slim.

CDNN used to have an 1895 carbine in 30.06 that I always wanted. I seem to recall that they had two versions, one was pretty basic where the other was engraved. Neither was cheap but I sure wish I'd snagged one.

I have a Marlin Model 39 (the original one with the hexagonal barrel), a Marlin .45-70 Stainless Steel Guide Gun, two Winchester 94 Trappers, one in .30-30, and one in .44 Mag. That's it.

    I love all of them.

I have a Winchester Model 94 in .32 WSP. I like shooting it, it was the first centerfire rifle I ever shot. I was 8 and it almost knocked me down! It shoots about 4" low and 4" left at 50 yards. While I would love to take it deer hunting I need to get that issue fixed first. In the back of my mind I have this idea of getting either another 94 in 30-30 or a Marlin 94 in 30-30. I like the 30-30 as it is very available and doesn't cost much. Now they are pretty expensive, sort of like the VW bug. Used to be the common man's deer rifle but now it has been turned into a collectors gun.

on some of the 32wsp guns , I'd check the muzzle crown and lock the gun in a vise and ensure the sights are centered with the bore. I've seen some stuff over the years that puts century to shame.

Someday, when I have a garage, this is on my list of things to do. It shoots the exact same place every time, I just need to be able to fix the sights. The elevation correction on the rear sight works so I could zero that, it is the side to side that is giving me fits. I thought this would be a good reason to get a laser bore sight.

When I was a kid, my father had a lever action in 45-70. I couldn't tell you the make or model, but it was a cannon. We used to shoot from a bridge into a creek. Remember, I was but a wee lad, but when that bullet hit the water, I remember it creating a geyser that seemed 20 feet high. I was in awe to say the least.

Richard - back in the early 70's, I had a Marlin Golden 39A in .22 S/L/LR. I was forced to give it up in the late 80's because I trusted a lawyer and Illinois courts.

    I just recently acquired a Marlin 1894 in .38 Sp./.357 Magnum to go with my GP-100 and a relative's SP-101.

I remember our Marlin from the mid 60's until I sold it around 75 or 76. Kind of wish I still had it. Anyone have any experience with the Browning BLR? Not as big an advantage as it was before the advent of the Leverlution style ammo but the box type magazines on the BLR, Savage 99 and the 1895 allowed for a greater variety of ammo choices since their wasn't a tubular magazine to restrict one to non-pointed bullet designs.

another problem the french solved that nobody really took advantage of.. the Rem 14 used a 'rifled' tube to circumvent this.

put a depression around your primer pocket and the point of the bullet will find it.

on last inventory, my only lever action is a Red Ryder, i bought 1500 BB's for it last week and gave it an oil bath.

Were you able to by the BBs over the internet? Did you have to register them?

Here is a picture of my Winchester. It was manufactured in about 1943. Sort of an interesting story with it. The parts were manufactured but WWII got in the way of putting them together for a few years. Not sure if it was put together during WWII or just after the war ended.
