True - but we can all donate money to organizations that support our rights. It is sad for me to say that most people I know who own guns are not NRA members.

Some of us are instead members of more effective groups, even if they are smaller. SAF, JPFO, AZCDL on a local level. SAF gets shit done. Any good decision that has been in our favor in recent history has been because of their efforts no matter how much the NRA is given credit for it.

I also have lived a life of pissing in a cup, giving blood and hair and having a clearance level. It hasn't stopped me from encountering my fair share of liberal asshats in what I thought would be a very conservative workplace.

I'm just going to try and put an end to some commonly spread bullshit right here. Weed has not gotten stronger since the 60's. In fact, it has been watered down and homogenized. Yes, on average across the board it is easier to find strong stuff due to a lot more of it being grown today and no one spending the time on ragweed, but it has lost its top end that was miles above the shit people smoke today.
Also, most smokers I know are libertarian and despise the socialist shit being shoved down our throats. That may be a product of me living in AZ and having mostly Libertarian or libertarian leaning conservatives around, but from my experience marijuana has no political lean. I know people from all parties that partake, one of which is a former gop senator.

Part of my job now is working on the control systems that many medical grow houses use to automate things. Almost all of the owners I work with are libertarian. Occasionally their front desk girl will be a ditzy little socialist, but most of them would fit right in here. I do know a few liberal asshat owners and there's a funny thing with them, they usually run their business like shit and go out.

Also, I'd say an easy majority of the smokers I know are very skeptical of anything government related. They have been demonized and criminalizes for decades over a fucking plant that has proven more useful than anything else the pharmaceutical industry has offered us since penicillin.
There are also far, far more marijuana users out there than you would ever realize. From my days working security systems, being in 3-16 houses a day for people from all walks of life from poor as shit to 36,000sq foot homes, an easy 80% of my customers smoked. I see the ashtrays, pipes and bags more commonly than not, and it's becoming more common every day. If pot made people into libtards, this country would have collapsed back in the 2000's easily.

Now, I can't go off like that and not offer a good counter theory for you. I blame the babysitter all of us grew up with. The big glowing box of love known as nanny telivision. Around the same time period you mention more and more people started buying and watching tv. As time has passed, the message coming from it has been more and more liberal. More parents today use the tube as a babysitter and more families have a tv, exposing more and more people, at a young and impressionable age to the socialist message the globalist fuck heads want to push. Have you watched today's cartoons and kids shows? Holy shit! The things my BIL and I have had to try and educate out of our niece and nephews heads due to the shit their mom lets them watch is astounding.
Everything they watch is programming them to think as a giant pc collective instead of an individual with freedom.

And then there's Facebook and similar. Giant liberal echo chambers of bullshit and fake story after fake story. It is no wonder that the weaker minded among us is so easy to indoctrinate. They get it 24/7

Great post Ij, I agree with just about all you posted.

I have personally known many, many successful well-educated folks over the years who will occassionaly partake of the leaf. And many of those same people fall squarely into the conservative or libertarian camps. And are often very pro-2nd Amendment. Alcohol abuse kills more people in the USA in a couple years time than all the reefer that's been smoked over the last 50.

Meanwhile "our" TV, radio, newspapers, & a lot of the big social media concerns pump out left-wing propaganda that would have made Joe Stalin & Mao green with envy.
